Quando eu criei meu blog, era apenas um lugar para guardar informações que eu achava interessante, até para eu mesmo ter um repositório.

Com o tempo começei a cadastrar mais coisas, claro que sempre voltada para o mundo Microsoft. Outras tecnologias que eu acho interessante eu também ia postando.

O tópico mais acessado do meu blog é com certeza o Windows Vista Language Pack, porém acho que muitos ficam frustrados com o conteúdo. Muita gente compra um notebook lá fora e quando chega no Brasil que transformar para Português-BR. E também eu não consigo responder todas as perguntas que são feitas naquele post, eu acabo não recebendo elas no meu e-mail e nunca lembro de ficar entrando no post para responder, preciso melhorar isso.

Já consegui ultrapassar os 23.000 acessos. Claro que eles não são únicos e também ele contabiliza acesso via RSS, mas para mim, um pobre mortal da área de TI, fico muito feliz em saber que o povo acaba caindo no meu blog procurando a resposta de alguma dúvida.

Gostaria de dedicar mais tempo para o blog, postar mais reviews de cada produto com que trabalho e aprendo mais, só que o tempo é curto e todos sabem disso!

Vou continuar postando coisas interessantes e espero estar ajudando as pessoas que passam por aqui.

A Microsoft, seguindo com a sua política de "eats its own food", acaba de migrar a estrutura de sites do MSDN e TechNet, dois dos seus maiores sites, para servidores virtuais utilizando a tecnologia Hyper-V.

Os servidores de banco ainda estão em máquinas físicas, mas todo o pool de servidores Web, rodando IIS7, estão virtualizados em Hyper-V com 4 CPU's virtuais e 10GB de memória RAM. As máquinas físicas possuem 2x Intel Quad-Core e 32GB de memória.

The performance report after this migration is very interesting:

• Hyper-V CPU overhead (as measured by the parent partition utilization) was 5% to 6% with linear progression as the number of requests increased.
• CPU oversubscription (three four-processor VMs on an eight-processor physical server) resulted in 3% lower overall performance per physical server based on overall requests per second per 1 percent CPU.
• Requests per second per 1% CPU performance of MSDN over the previous physical server platform improved. This demonstrates to us the viability of efficient consolidation from dedicated older physical servers to shared virtualized platforms.
• Physical MSDN handled 21% more requests per second per 1% CPU than virtualized MSDN.

Service Level Dashboard
IT departments need ever more sophisticated tools to monitor the performance of applications that make the organization run. These tools need to go beyond traditional server-based monitoring where server health equals service health.

The Service Level Dashboard for System Center Operations Manager 2007 is a new Solution Accelerator that addresses IT Service Managers' need to measure and report SLA compliance for line-of-business (LOB) applications. This new accelerator measures LOB performance from end to end by collating performance metrics from both the server side and select client locations. The accelerator provides an easy to read dashboard with performance status for the service through which the service manager can perform a data drill down.

Solution Accelerator Components

This accelerator ships the following software components:

- An Operations Manager 2007 Management Pack (SLD DAT, SLD report)
- A sample unsealed Management Pack targeted at monitoring a Web site

MAP 3.1
As you may have known already, MAP has replaced WVHA since February 2008 and MAP now has all of WVHA's functionalities for Windows Vista Hardware Assessment and Office 2007, and more!

You can now use MAP tool to analyze readiness of your servers for a Windows Server 2008 upgrade as well as Server or Application Virtualization migration.

MAP 3.1 will include features such as Hyper-V modeling support and 64-bit installation support.

Pessoal, achei um vídeo de 35 minutos muito interessante sobre a integração do MDT com o System Center Configuration Manager 2007 para um deploy de Sistema Operacional (no caso, Windows Vista) utilizando a metodologia Zero Touch Installation (ZTI).

O vídeo é bem auto explicativo, apenas com telas dos programas, mas as vezes é preciso pausar, senão você não consegue acompanhar todas as mudanças que tem que ser feitas nos softwares.

Com a quantidade de máquinas virtuais hoje sendo implementadas, com a facilidade desse novo mundo da virtualização, você liga e desliga muito fácil as máquinas.
